Project "Support for broadband infrastructure (stage II)" (PRIP2)

  The main strategic goal of the PRIP2 project is to increase the availability and use of ICT and to improve its quality. During the      project, the agricultural sector objects were connected to the existing broadband networks.

Financing

The PRIP2 project is financed by the funds of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and is carried out under the activity area "Support for broadband infrastructure" of the Lithuanian Rural Development Program 2014-2020 (RDP) measure "Basic services and renewal of villages in rural areas".

Goals

• To connect about 400 objects of the agricultural sector to the broadband infrastructure.
• To lay about 340 kilometers of fiber optic cable lines and install the necessary equipment.
• To create an opportunity for 20,000 residents to use new or better IT infrastructure.

Project results

• 400 objects of the agricultural sector have been connected to the broadband infrastructure.
• 342,661 kilometers of fiber optic cable lines have been laid and the necessary equipment installed.
• About 79,000 residents will have the opportunity to use new or better IT infrastructure.
