Project „Ultra – fast network infrastructure“
The goal of the "Ultra – fast network infrastructure" (ISRI) project is to ensure access to gigabit speed broadband for entities promoting social and economic progress and data transmission service providers located in "white areas".
It is planned to provide gigabit speed connection access in rural/remote areas to 5,000 entities. During the evaluation, it was determined that the most optimal way to connect the identified entities is to build 2,050 km of fiber lines and to construct 12 new 30 m high communication towers.
To achieve the goal of the project, the following tasks are set:
- Install gigabit-speed broadband infrastructure necessary for connection of entities promoting social and economic progress;
- Install the equipment required for the functionality of the communication infrastructure.
Qualitative changes expected to be achieved after the implementation of the project:
- Gigabit broadband access will increase in rural/remote areas;
- Opportunities will be created for private operators to provide services in commercially unattractive areas;
- The operating conditions of entities promoting social and economic progress will improve, thereby increasing the attractiveness of rural/remote areas to other entities.
The applicant of the project is PE "Plačiajuostis internetas". The institution's activity is devoted to the interest of the state - the development of broadband infrastructure and the provision of wholesale broadband services in commercially unattractive settlements.
The project applicant has all the necessary financial, institutional, organizational, and other necessary capacities for project implementation.
