Investment project „Ultra – fast network infrastructure (stage II)” (ISRI-2)

In the 2021-2027 European Union funds investment program, approved in 2022 August 3 by Decision of the European Commission no. C(2022) 5742, there was designated special priority no. 7 "Improving digital connectivity", whose specific task no. 7.1 "Digital communication" envisages investments in the development of ultra-high-bandwidth broadband networks. In the implementation of this task, the Public Enterprise "Plačiajuostis internetas" is preparing the investment project "ISRI-2”.

The project "ISRI-2" will continue development of ultra-high-bandwidth broadband networks that meet the requirements of cyber and physical security in identified “white areas” based on the analysis of investment needs, giving priority to areas where the installation of networks is not economically beneficial, in order to ensure an even distribution of electronic communication networks development without distorting competition (in areas where this infrastructure development and service provision cannot be ensured by market participants).

The purpose of the investment project is to create an investment project, based of which an application for funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding sources, necessary to implement the goals of the development of high-speed infrastructure and to create prerequisites for the implementation of the project, would be submitted.

To ensure constant communication and cooperation in the preparation of an investment project, the institution is forming a working group, therefore it kindly requests you until 2023 July 31 to inform the institution about the representatives you propose to appoint (indicating the name, position, and contact details of the representative) who would participate in the activities of the working group. Please send the information by e-mail: [email protected]
